More Xiaomi phones keep picking up the stable MIUI 12.5 update – the company’s latest MIUI OS. It’s the Mi 9 in China that is receiving the much-anticipated update that brings some fascinating features. These features are essentially an improvement of the current version, but that’s needed given the complaints from Mi fans. For some months now, Xiaomi phone users have been facing a series of bugs, something the new update is believed to address. That increased after the adoption of Android 11, but with the Mi 9 receiving both updates simultaneously, the build should be safe from any serious bug.
As expected, the Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for Mi 9 comes with features of the new iteration of MIUI. From the update log, response to gestures is now instant, while MIUI has become faster, lighter, and more durable. And with 20x mode rendering power, animation becomes smoother, performance improves, and there’s now a few limits to what you can see on your screen.
More interestingly is the Android 11 update, which is long overdue. However, it’s better late than never and coupled with bugs faced by early adopters, we can agree the best time for the update to start rolling is now. However, only those using the Chinese model are receiving the Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for Mi 9. We expect other regions to get the update in the coming days after a successful preview in China.
Meanwhile, the update is hitting eligible Chinese models with a version number – MIUI 12.5.3.0 RFACNXM. You can install the update when you download the ROM via the links below. Always remember to backup your data before attempting the flashing process.
