The Redmi Note 8 Pro in India is the latest device to start receiving a stable Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update. That might have taken some time, but many will agree it’s better than waiting like the Redmi Note 8 users. The device is yet to start pushing MIUI 12.5, having received an Android 11-based MIUI 12 update. Although the build is now live in China, it will take time before hitting the global models. However, it’s a different situation for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, which is now receiving Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 in India.
The Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for Redmi Note 8 Pro in India is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.3.0 RGGINXM. It weighs in at 2.1GB and comes with the expected features of the new MIUI OS. That includes an instant response to gestures, new custom device model adjustments, optimization, and revamped Note app. The update also revamped the control center and notification panel UI, making the switch between the two seamless.
Of course, the update brings a stable MIUI based on Android 11 and bumps the security patch level to July 2021. However, since it’s a cross-section Android upgrade, we recommend that you backup your data before installing the update. That could come in handy if a need for a factory reset arises after the upgrade. We doubt, though, as there haven’t been any major complaints since the update started rolling out. That said, the update is safe, and you should download and install the Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for Redmi Note 8 Pro in India when prompted.
