The season of Android 13 is gradually coming to an end with the Android 13 QPR1 Beta being the final stop for this software. We’ve also received the first stable release of Android 13 with the consumer launch coming sometime in October. Well, the Big G has started preparing the Android beta program to pave the way for the Android 13 QPR1, however, this preparation hints at the Android 14 beta.
Some notable tweaks signaling the arrival of the QPR1 Beta are- the ability to opt-out of the program for the stable release before its launch in September without losing your data and the accessing of the QPR1 beta if still engaged in the program by September.
Changes leading to the Android 14 beta
There have been some changes to the Android beta program that leaves clues to the Android 14 beta. The brand mentions that “devices must be on a non-developer preview public stable build to enroll in the beta program.” So if you’re on Developer Preview, you will have to opt-out to enroll in the Android Beta Program.
The QPR beta releases were previously announced to run till June 2023, but that isn’t the case now. It is now designed to run “through March 2023” with two betas coming in before the Android 14 beta.
Coming in with the UPB build, the Android 14 beta will probably begin rolling out in April. In the time of Android 13, the first beta program came in before the I/O, this might play out in the Android 14 beta as well.
The brand hopes to shorten the QPR rollout period to avoid running two beta programs simultaneously while seeding two quiet QPR releases in between and further leading us to the Android 14 beta.
