Android 14 QPR3 beta 1 update is now available for download

Google will start rolling out the Android 14 QPR2 stable next month after rolling out the last beta a few days ago, but they have moved on to the QPR3. The tech company is rolling out the Android 14 QPR3 beta 1 update ahead of the stable release in June.

Since the Android 14 QPR1 beta, Google has been ahead of schedule. They released the QPR1 beta 1 update before the release of stable Android 14 to the public and have been doing so ever since. And while they are yet to start rolling out the stable QPR2 update, testing has started for the next version. Android 14 QPR3 will be the last major update to Android 14 before we start seeing Android 15 Developer previews.

As usual, the update is available for beta testers and rolling out for Pixel 5a and newer Pixel phones. It is seeding with version number AP21.240119.009 and brings the February 2024 security patch alongside bug fixes and improvements. Meanwhile, there are known issues – “The Assistant At a Glance widget sometimes displays weather information for the wrong location,” while some have been fixed;

‘Issue #323331515 – Circle to search not appearing past release date. This feature was unintentionally released only to non-Beta users. Beta users should always get the latest features before, or at the same time, as the rest of the public. This issue has been corrected in Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1.”

You can visit the source link to download the Factory Image or OTA if you want to install it manually. And if you are running Android 14 QPR2 Beta 3.1 hoping to move to a stable build, you should not install the latest release.

“If you prefer to leave the beta program and receive the public stable release of Android 14 QPR2, you can do so without wiping your device by opting out and not installing today’s QPR3 Beta 1 update. If you opt out of the program after installing Beta 1 or any future updates, all user data on the device will get wiped per usual program guidelines. Opting out will trigger a ‘Downgrade’ OTA. Ignore this update and wait for the Android 14 QPR2 public release instead.”
