Android 14 season is here and a lot of features have been dropped from the software. Two developer previews are already out, both of which brought interesting features to developers and now it has been tipped that the Android 14 will be bringing an emoji wallpaper maker to the Pixel 7 among other smartphones.

The emoji wallpaper maker app is one of those features that were discovered by ever-hardworking developers, like those at XDA. The app is labeled “Pixel Experience,” which leads us to assume that it is another exclusive made for phones like the Pixel 7 Pro—one of the Best Android Phones available—but regardless of whether that is true or not, we know what it can accomplish. That may come as a surprise, but it allows users to create their personalized backgrounds using emojis.
Once “unlocked,” which is only necessary for the developer build, a new “Emoji Lab” option appears under the Wallpaper & Picker settings. Users are then free to express their creativity using the tools that are provided to them.
To begin, up to 14 emojis can be selected, which will then be converted into a pattern based on one of many presets. The next natural step is to select a solid color scheme, but if you just want to trust the force, there’s a “Randomize” button as well.
The wallpaper will be ready for you in a new folder called “Emoji Lab” once you’ve completed the process. All of your work will be saved there, and there may even be a feature that allows you to share your creations, although the XDA team has yet to test it. Regardless of whether the XDA team was successful in getting the Emoji Wallpaper maker up and running, there is no assurance that the software will make it into the final release of Android 14 for Pixel phones.
