Google starts rolling out Android 14 with October 2023 security patch to Pixel phones

Google has started rolling out the stable Android 14 update to Pixel phones. The much-anticipated upgrade is coming with the October 2023 security patch.

The stable Android 14 update was supposed to arrive with the September 2023 security patch. However, it was delayed due to a bug, which has since been resolved with the Android 14 beta 5.3 update that rolled out to Pixel phones last month. Pixel owners are not getting the much-anticipated upgrade, and it comes with October 2023 security patch.

The update has a version number UP1A.231005.007 and weighs 1.0GB. According to the changelog, the update comes with customizable lock screen clocks and shortcuts. Monochrome color theming options and a simple way to connect your favorite health and fitness apps. Below is the complete changelog.

Meanwhile, the October 2023 security patch resolved vulnerabilities ranging from high to critical. The patch dated 2023-10-01 resolved 26 security flaws, while 2023-10-05 fixed 26 bugs and one on 2023-10-06. If you’re a Pixel owner, download the update via Settings>>System>>System Update.
