Android Auto 11.5 stable update is available for download

Google keeps rolling out new Android Auto updates to improve performance and resolve bugs. It seems the beta test was successful, as the Android Auto 11.5 stable update is now available for download. Nevertheless, the update is still rolling out in batches and might take some time to arrive in your region.

Android Auto 11.5 stable update

It’s no news that new Android Auto updates do not come with a changelog, but with each update, Google introduces new features while optimizing performance and fixing bugs. Android Auto 11.5 stable is one of those updates, and we have an idea of features that are probably arriving with the update.

We know Google has been working on AI-powered message summaries for Android Auto. The feature has been rolling out for some time, and we expect the new update to enable it for some people. However, the feature is limited to some countries, but if you are in the US, you should have it enabled.

With AI message summary enabled, Google Assistant will read a summary of your long messages created using AI. You will only get the important part of your messages while you focus on driving.

Also, there’s support for the icon set and wallpaper on the mobile phone. The feature makes it possible to use your device wallpaper and icon set on your car infotainment screen. However, reports suggest the feature is currently limited to Samsung phones, but Google could be expanding it to other phones.

As usual, Google is rolling out the new update via the Play Store. It should be available for all eligible users but don’t panic if the update is yet to arrive. You can as well download the APK file and side-load it on your device running Android 8 and later. If you encounter any issues after the upgrade, you can uninstall the update and install an older version.
