Android Auto, a system that is designed to limit the interactions on your smartphone while you are on the road, has been getting updates, rollouts, and fixes since early this year. The brand has decided to bump up the version to Android Auto 8.0 via an update although there are no seen visual changes even if it was so much anticipated.
Expectations from the Android Auto 8.0 update
Some cool features have been introduced to Android Auto, however, most tech enthusiasts are still anticipating the “Coolwalk” Android Auto redesign which most people predicted should be present in this newly seeded Android Auto 8.0 update.
The Android Auto redesign came into the limelight sometime in May and the software is said to tweak the app car screen’s layout. The biggest tweak from the Auto redesign is being able to split the car screen into three sections where you can still change the media playing or enable Google Assistant while viewing your Google Maps navigation at the same time.
In addition, the redesign was said to be compatible with a lot of car screens. After beta testing, the brand is rolling out the Android Auto 8.0 update via the Play Store but sadly, there’s no redesign present in the update. According to the 9to5google APK insight team, it might be that the brand is still working on the redesign and it might be rolled out in the coming days.
While the new update doesn’t bring in the “Coolwalk” redesign, there might still be numerous fixes under the hood, since most Android Auto versions are quite problematic according to reports.
