Google has started rolling out a new Android Auto update. The current release is exclusive to Beta testers, who will preview the build before the stable release in the coming weeks.
The Android Auto app has been getting attention since the Coolwalk feature debuted months ago. While many are yet to get the redesign, Google seems to enable it with each new release. Perhaps, the Android Auto 9.2 beta update might introduce the Coolwalk redesign.
Meanwhile, the new update focuses on improvements and optimization. It also pledges to resolve some issues while introducing some new features. The last Android Auto stable release enabled split screen and Coolwalk layout adjustment, with an option to switch Media closer to the driver or Navigation closer to the driver.
We expect Android Auto 9.2.1312 to enable more features and also resolve issues. Users have been complaining about the split screen feature not working for them. According to Google, the rollout is still in progress and is coming to vehicles at different times.
Google seems to release the feature to more people with each new release. We believe Android Auto 9.2 has probably enabled it in some vehicles, and we recommend installing the app. You can download it via the Google Play store or using the like below.
