Android Auto 9.5 beta update now available for download

Google is rolling out a new beta update as it prepares for a new stable release in the coming weeks. The tech company has been pushing updates to the app since the Coolwalk redesign to resolve issues reported by early adopters.

Android Auto 9.5 beta update

It’s been only a few days since the Android Auto 9.4 stable started rolling out, and the next build is already in the testing phase. Google is currently pushing the Android Auto 9.5 beta update to beta testers ahead of the stable release in the coming days.

The latest update focuses on improving performance and resolving bugs. There have been issues after the Coolwalk redesign release where users report the taskbar freezing and other bugs. Many users had to downgrade to the earlier build without the Split screen design to use the app.

Perhaps, the reason many people are yet to get the CoolWalk Redesign, but Google seems to enable it for more people with a new Android Auto update. We expect the current build to address issues encountered by users while using the app and bring the latest design to more people.

Meanwhile, we can’t confirm the bugs resolved with Android Auto 9.5 beta, nor did it enable the Coolwalk redesign. We expect to learn about that in the coming weeks when the build is released for more people.

The update is being rolled out through the Google Play store for beta testers. However, you can side-load the APK file, which works fine on any Android device running Android 8 and later.
