Android Auto call issues on Pixel phones resolved

Here’s the crux of the matter: Some Pixel smartphone users have been experiencing Android Auto call issues as noticed on a Google support thread.

Android Auto's Coolwalk design, Android Auto call issues

According to the thread, the Android Auto call issue is phone calls coming in through the phone speaker rather than the car using Android Auto. While this was happening, it was noticed that other media apps were still remitting their sounds via Android Auto and not via the phones. Usually, other non-Pixel smartphone users noticed this issue but it was taken as a bug and it happens temporarily.

But following the Android Auto call issues (calls coming in via the phone’s speaker), Pixel smartphone users have seen that theirs is persistent with no fix in sight – well, not anymore.

Fix for the Android Auto call issues on Pixel phones

An announcement concerning a fix for the Android Auto call issues came in earlier this month, according to 9to5google. The fix is the Android 13 update patch and it ends this frustrating issue faced by most Pixel smartphone users. Luckily, the update is available for a vast majority of Pixel phones – Google Pixel 4a and higher. So you can head to Settings, Software Updates and then check for an update (so you can download it).

The non-Pixel smartphone users should get a fix for the bug very soon since that of the Pixel phones has been fixed. Meanwhile, 9to5google reported Android Auto connection problems on the Google Pixel 7 series – hopefully, Google puts this in their schedule as well when rolling out fixes.
