Android Auto has received a lot of tweaks recently and has gone through a series of maintenance to improve the users’ experience worldwide. Well, the CES 2023, the most influential tech event in the world, was the avenue for Google to add the Android Auto Whatsapp calling to the platform – this will be in addition to the already cool features that have been rolled out to the platform.
Android Auto Whatsapp calling
Previously, users could just make voice calls on Android Auto and there was nothing like VoIP calls. Recently, the brand is partnering with Whatsapp to make VoIP calls available via the platform on Android Auto. Android Auto Whatsapp calling will be rolling out to the latest Pixel smartphones first(most probably the Pixel 6 and 7 series) and then the latest Samsung smartphones as well.
Should the feature be successful, Google will move further to partner with more VoIP communication apps. Still, on availability, once the feature lands for the Google and Samsung smartphones, it will be getting to other Android OEMs. Meanwhile, the brand shut down the mobile version of the Android Auto making users access just the car screen version. So, probably, the brand is trying to make the car screen version accessible to almost everything on your smartphone.
Alongside the Android Auto Whatsapp calling, some other interesting features were made available to Android Auto. Some of these are message replies with suggestions, a card-based split-screen UI for improved productivity, missed call reminders, arrival time sharing with contacts, suggestions for music playlists and podcasts, and full-screen navigation with Google Maps(via Sammobile).
