We’ve been seeing reports about different smartphones recently and that of even the global smartphone shipment. The current report is from Apple, and it’s the company’s Q2 2023 revenue details. Let’s take a look at what we’ve got.
Apple’s Q2 2023 revenue reports details
According to the reports on Apple’s Q2 2023 revenue, the tech giant announced a quarterly revenue of $81.8 billion for the months of April, May, and June. This reflects a 1.4% decrease from the same period last year. It’s worth noting that the second quarter usually experiences a decline in sales as consumers await the introduction of the new generation of iPhones in the fall.
Despite the slight decrease in revenue, Apple’s net income for the quarter was an impressive $19.88 billion, with profits per diluted share rising to $1.26. The Services sector, which includes the App Store and other subscription-based services, played a significant role in contributing to the company’s revenue. It generated an outstanding $21.2 billion in sales during the quarter and reported over 1 billion paid memberships.
On the other hand, sales of the iPhone, iPad, and Mac were all down in comparison to the previous year. According to Tim Cook, sales of the iPhone 14 series experienced a 2% decline when compared to the iPhone 13 series from a year ago. iPad sales also saw a significant drop of 20% year on year.
However, there was a bright spot in the sales report, as the wearables, home, and accessories category witnessed an increase in sales, showcasing Apple’s strength in this segment.
