Xiaomi started upgrading the Mi Mix 3 to MIUI 12 a few days ago in China, while the 5G variant was hoping for a security patch update. The company, through its UK Customer support, promised an update in June, and MIUI 12 in October. Unfortunately, the security patch update for Mi Mix 3 5G didn’t arrive at that time, but that can’t be said now as a new update starts arriving for the device. Timely updates remain the edge phones on Android One programs have over those running custom ROM. And even after it has been alleged that Xiaomi has abandoned the program, the updates haven’t stopped coming. Perhaps, there should be a timeframe before the supports finally stop, just like the days of Windows and Blackberry OS.
