The Mi A3 remains the latest offering by Xiaomi to run the Stock version of Android, having been released under the Android One program. Xiaomi started upgrading the Mi Mix 3 to MIUI 12 a few days ago in China, while the 5G variant was hoping for a security patch update. The company, through its UK Customer support, promised an update in June, and MIUI 12 in October. The POCO F1 was expected to receive its first Stable Beta MIUI 12 update a couple of weeks after the Mi Pilots for the device were selected. Timely updates remain the edge phones on Android One programs have over those running custom ROM. And even after it has been alleged that Xiaomi has abandoned the program, the updates haven’t stopped coming. Perhaps, there should be a timeframe before the supports finally stop, just like the days of Windows and Blackberry OS.
