It has been months since Xiaomi announced they’ll be upgrading the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro to Android 11. Since then, the closed beta group has received the update for both devices while only the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 8 had its public build released. Xiaomi took a different approach last year with the release of the Redmi Note 9 series. The company had to launch another version for the Chinese market, given the lack of 5G connectivity on the global version.
