The good thing about Android One phones is the timely update they receive, and you get compelling features at an aggressive price when it’s the Mi A Series from Xiaomi. Xiaomi debuted the Redmi Note 7 in January 2019 running Stable Android 10 based on MIUI 10. After a month, the company released the Redmi Note 7 Pro into the market with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 Octa-Core processor. The device also runs Stable Android Pie on top MIUI 10. Over the past year, there have been some changes. Both devices were upgraded to MIUI 11, and also eligible to receive MIUI 12 in the coming month. It seems the May Android security patch update left some bugs. The update which arrived with a build number MIUI 11.0.4.0 QGGMIXM for the global users also arrived for the EEA users but had a different build number – MIUI 11.0.3.0 QGGEUXM. To make 5G more affordable for consumers globally, Qualcomm has just added a new Snapdragon 690 SoC to its 600series chip. The SoC is the first from the series to support 5G connectivity and will do so with Qualcomm X51 modem. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 supports SA, NSA, and global 5G bands on sub-6GHz. Unfortunately, the processor doesn’t seem to include support for mmWave, which means it won’t be compatible with existing Verizon and AT&T 5G networks.
