As normal with any major OS upgrade, reports started surfacing a few days after Xiaomi started rolling out the Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update. One of these problems was battery drain, which seems to affect mid-range phones. As expected, a fix is now rolling out for the affected phones.
Early reports suggested that Redmi 13 and POCO M6 users were experiencing battery drain after upgrading to Android 15 with HyperOS 2. It’s normal for the battery SOT to reduce after a major upgrade since some apps need time to adapt to the new OS. This can cause glitches and some cases, overheating, resulting in excessive battery drain.
Xiaomi Redmi 13 and POCO M6 battery drain issues resolved
However, if you have been experiencing a usual battery drain since upgrading to HyperOS 2 on your Redmi 13 and POCO M6, you should install the latest update. Xiaomi is rolling out a stable build with version OS.0.2.0. VNTMIXM. It’s a global build, and we understand it has resolved the battery issue.
We recommend installing the update when prompted, though it might take a few days before it arrives on all eligible phones. After installing the upgrade, you should experience a better battery life, otherwise, you might need to perform a factory reset. However, ensure you back up your files to somewhere safe before, as everything in your device will be wiped.
