Many tweaks have been added to the Google Assistant recently by the Big G. Joining the Google Assistant enhancements is being able to check Google fit and Fitbit stats. Quite impressive from the company.
Earlier this month, it was proposed that Nest hub was going to get Google Fit and Fitbit integration and it’s finally available via Google assistant. Once this feature is enabled, you check Google Fit and Fitbit stats by simply asking the Google Assistant on your phone whether Android or iOS.
Nest Hub isn’t left out as the feature works on all Google Smart displays 9to5google tested. Here are some questions you could ask the Google Assistant:
- How many steps did I take today/last week?
- What’s my heart rate today? That’s Resting heart rate. While in the case of Fitbit, you get access to exercise zones whether Peak, Cardio or Fat Burn minutes.
- How many calories did I burn today?
Answers to the questions on both form factors will appear as a card accompanied by an icon and a “Data from” line of which the Google Assistant will note the data based on your last sync. Meanwhile, none of this data is shown proactively on some Smart displays but we expect it in a future update.
However, 2nd-gen Nest Hub users are already enjoying the Wellness tab that shows sleep-related cards, talking about some informational stats and tips. Google hopes to achieve better Fitbit integration across its devices, although the Sleep sensing on the 2nd-gen Nest Hub is working with the Fitbit premium.
