It’s been over six months since the MIUI 13 update arrived with the Xiaomi 12 series in China. The company is yet to finalize the distribution to eligible models, but they are already working on the next iteration. We expected to see MIUI 13.5 debut soon, but it seems Xiaomi will opt for MIUI 14 instead.
There have been reports that Xiaomi is working on MIUI 13.5. That seems like it, given the release of MIUI 12.5 last year, but it seems the company won’t be going that route this year, as they plan to skip the point upgrade for MIUI 14.
The details of Xiaomi MIUI 14 have been decoded inside MIUI code by folks at Xiaomiui. From the screenshot above, Xiaomi has started the development of MIUI 14 and is likely to debut with Xiaomi 13 (nuwa). If that’s the case, we expect it to become available in December, which means we will see MIUI 13.5.
With MIUI 13, Xiaomi started integrating its new MIUI with Android, and if that continues, we expect MIUI 14 to debut towards the end of the year when stable Android 13 must have been ready. Google plans to release the update in the coming weeks, and we believe Xiaomi will integrate Android 13 with MIUI 14.
When will Xiaomi MIUI 14 debut
Last year, Xiaomi released MIUI 12.5 in August during the launch of the Pad 5 series. The company is expected to release the successor next month, and we might see the release of MIUI 13.5 or MIUI 14
Nevertheless, it’s still early to say, as not much information has been seen on the upcoming iteration of MIUI. We hope to get more details in the coming weeks/months. Follow us on Telegram for more information about the Xiaomi MIUI 14.
