Xiaomi MIUI Theme app blocked by Play Protect, check below for a fix…
Xiaomi MIUI is one of the best Android skins out there, but even at that, the company never stops improving. Early last year, they released the 12th iteration of it, which arrived with some fascinating features. Some of the features are a new control center, super live wallpapers, floating windows, dark mode 2.0, enhanced privacy, new system animation, and more. Meanwhile, they already started testing the new one (MIUI 12.5) that debuted alongside Mi 11. It focuses on optimizing the predecessor while improving performance and stability.
The Xiaomi MIUI also has some system apps, such as the MIUI theme app. It comes pre-installed with all Xiaomi phones, and there, you’ll find themes, wallpaper (still and live), ringing tone, fonts, and so many others. The Mi theme app is getting a new udate, which has pushed it to v1.6.3.17. It improved the overall performance of the app while fixing bugs.
The update is pushed via OTA, but if you didn’t get a notification to update the app, you can visit the GetApp store. Also, there’s a link below from where you can download the update. It comes in a 20.6MB package and wouldn’t take much time to download.
Download and install MIUI theme app v1.6.3.17
- Step 1. Visit this link and click on the Download button
- Step 2. On completion, click the three dots lines and select save to downloads
- Step 3. Head over to your device download folder and start the installation
- Step 4. After installation, launch the app and start using it

Xiaomi has released a new MIUI theme app update for the global users. The new release has a version number V2.1.0.3 and weighs 31.5MB. According to the update log, it has fixed bugs and improved performance, while the Play Protect issue has been resolved as well. Download here.
Google Play Protect has flagged the MIUI theme app as harmful, and it has been removed from the Play Store. Also, the app has gone missing from the app drawer, but there’s a way to bring it back. Follow the procedure below…
Temporary solution to get back Themes APP, if you have disabled it already
Go to Settings » Apps » Manage apps.
Tap in the top right of the page (More options).
Tap Reset app preferences.

You need to give permission to some apps after resetting app preferences.

Xiaomi is pushing a new update to the global theme app to improve the performance and fluency. The update also fixed some unknown bugs to improved users experience when using the app. The new MIUI Global theme app has a version number – V1.6.4.11 – and weighs in at 20MB. Download the APK file here.
