Xiaomi released the December security patch build to the Mi A3 a couple of days with the global users receiving the update. They have now extended the rollout to the European models. It’s another massive update when you consider it’s just a security patch build, and according to early adopters, there are no changes. However, the update is safe, at least, and we recommend you download it to fortify the device.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 is the only Xiaomi phone with active support. However, it won’t be receiving the Android 12 update as it has elapsed the OS support, but you can upgrade via custom ROM. That means you would stop getting the monthly security patches, which the December version has been released in Europe.
The December security patch for Mi A3 in Europe comes in about 422MB package. It has a version number – V12.0.15.0 RFQEUXM – and has bumped the Android security patch level to December 2021. From the feedback, there are no changes nor bug fixes, but for a package of that size, there must be some sort of optimizations and improvements. And since it’s safe, we recommend that you download and fortify your device.
Meanwhile, given that the update is OTA bound, it might take some time before arriving on your device. That’s why we have added a link below this post if you opt for manual installation. However, make sure you have a backup of your files before attempting the installation.
