Artificial Intelligence has improved in the last couple of years, with OEMs now taking full advantage of it. The Call Screening feature, which has been exclusive to Pixel phones, is on the Pros of AI. With many spams and unwanted robocalls on the rise, there’s no best time to enable the call screen feature on Samsung Galaxy phones.
The Call Screening feature is a feature that allows AI to analyze your call in real time and make decisions based on your settings. It also has the option to transcribe the Audio to let you decide on answering the call or ignoring it. Unfortunately, it is available on a few devices, but with One UI 5.1, it can work with your Galaxy phones.
How does the call screen work on Samsung phones?
The Call Screening feature is known as Bixby Text Call. It is part of the features that arrived with the One UI 5.1 update, and it’s currently limited to Galaxy S-series, the Note Series, and Folds, running Android 13 and later.
It has a similar function to what’s obtainable on Pixel phones, where AI helps identify a caller. With the Bixby Text Call enabled, your phone assistant will ask for some information from the caller, including their Identity and the purpose of the call.
The information can be transcribed in real-time for you to decide on the caller. Ultimately, it will be valuable in identifying spam calls and calls that need urgent attention.
How to enable Call Screening on Samsung phones
Before proceeding, the function supports only Korean and English (UK and US).
- Navigate to Settings
- Use the search bar to locate Bixby Text Call
- Switch the toggle
- Choose your preferred language (English UK or US)
- Choose your preferred voice.
That’s how you can enable Call Screening on Samsung Galaxy phones. When you get a call from an unknown number, you will get the Bixby Text Call button on the screen. To allow Bixby to take over, tap on the button.
