Xiaomi has already announced the second batch of phones to receive the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. It looks like the Redmi Note 10 series down to the Redmi Note 8 series will receive the update in the future. The announcement was for a Chinese release, given that the first batch of global releases hasn’t been completed yet. So far, only the POCO F3/Mi 11X, Mi 10T/Mi 10T Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra has received the update globally. The POCO F2 Pro is eligible for the update, but Xiaomi is not deploying that just yet.

Enhanced edition of MIUI 12.5

The global version of POCO F2 Pro is pushing a new stable update. It comes with multiple bug fixes but missing the features of Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. With that, the update is only a security patch build, which has addressed some issues. Hopefully, Xiaomi will release the build in the coming days. And hence, we recommend that you download the latest build to improve performance and address bugs ahead of the stable release of Enhanced Edition.

The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.3.0 RJKMIXM – and weighs in at 748MB. That’s big for a security patch, but that might be due to the bug fixes. Going by the update log, the fingerprint icon not appearing or displayed incorrectly on the landscape when turned off has been fixed. Using fingerprints in some app locks the device, and bugs affecting wallpaper have been addressed. Check here for the complete changes.

Aside from the bug fixes, the update has bumped the Android security patch level to August 2021. It has increased system security while fortifying the device ahead of the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. And if you are running the global ROM, we recommend that you download the current build.
