Confirmed: MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition coming to Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 10 series
Apparently, Xiaomi has been testing the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition for the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 9, and Redmi Note 10 series internally. They’ll start pushing the stable version of the update from October 8 if everything goes smoothly. Also, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth will be receiving the update with the second phase of the rollout. However, given Xiaomi’s constant zeal to beat its schedule, we expect the update to start seeding before the said date. At first, it will arrive in China before making its way to the global models.
Initially, we thought the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 is exclusive to premium Xiaomi phones. That seems not to be the case as the company announces the second phase of the rollout. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 10 series phones will be receiving the update. These phones are already testing the build internally, and going by the official schedule, will start seeding to the stable channel from October 8.
The MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition is essentially a performance improvement update. It didn’t come with any physical features but introduced Atomized Memory, Liquid Storage, Focused Algorithm, and Smart Balance. However, depending on the phone capacity and model, optimization may defer. Perhaps, some devices will miss out on some features of the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition.
Xiaomi is expected to start seeding the stable MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition for the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 9, and Redmi Note 10 series from October 8. That’s if everything goes smooth, and hopefully, it will. That means the global version of these devices, including the Mi 10 Lite, will start getting the update from November or earlier.
