Following the recent revelation that the Google Stadia will be shutting down next year, many game players now fear losing all their years of gaming saves in Stadia’s library. However, you have nothing to worry about just yet as your saves will be available to you until January 18 next year. So you can export and download your game saves from Google Stadia before that time. We will show you how to do that in this guide.

You can export your game saves from Stadia using the  Google Takeout web app. Follow the below steps carefully:

1. Open the Google Takeout web app on your browser and sign in to the Google account associated with your  Stadia account.

2. You will see several data associated with your Google account and they will all be selected by default. Click on Deselect all, since we are export just your Stadia data. Now scroll down and when you see Stadia, click the check-mark next to it.

3. Scroll down and select “Next step”.

4. Select how you want to download the export from the drop-down “Delivery method” menu. You can choose to save them to Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. You will also need to select the file type and size of the data to be exported. After selection, click on “Create export”.

5. Google will then begin compiling your data backup and depending on how large the data is, this might take a while.

6. Once ready, you will receive a link from Google in your email address to download your backup. However, if you have opted to receive it in a cloud storage, it should now be safely there.

7. Next step is to extract the zip file and copy it to your computer. On most computers, double-clicking on the zip file will either open the zip to reveal its content, or extract it immediately. Copy the folder to your computer.

8. Locate the Takeout folder you just copied to your computer, and open it to reveal another folder named Stadia. open it again. Three folders will be revealed; USER, SOCIAL, and GAMING. Open the GAMING folder. Now open the folder labeled GAME-SAVE and you will discover all the games you’ve played.

9. Now import your save. The saves will be  placed in different locations on your PC, so here, you will need to carefully locate where each save games are kept according to your PC version, and import them.
