The Big G, Google, released the Android 13 QPR1 Beta update with some issues fixed under the hood. The issues addressed by the Android 13 QPR1 Beta update are highlighted below:
Developer-reported issues
- Fixed an issue for some devices that mistakenly caused a user’s emergency contact to be dialled from the lock screen when the device was in their pockets.
Other resolved issues
- Fixed various issues for Pixel 6a devices that made it difficult for users to unlock their device or to set up Fingerprint Unlock.
- Fixed an issue that caused the system UI to crash in certain cases, such as gesturing from the edge of the screen to go back.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the 5G icon to be displayed instead of the 5G UW icon, even when the affected device was already successfully connected to a 5G UW network.
In addition to these fixes, some features were accompanied by the Android 13 QPR1 Beta update.
Other than “resolved issues” from Android 13 QPR1 Beta update
First up, it seems the very admired Unified Pixel launcher will be making its way to Google Pixel devices after it was removed earlier, courtesy of the Android 13 QPR1 Beta update. Furthermore, there are tweaks in the Media, UI and quick settings tile which cuts across Bluetooth, Airplane mode, Auto-rotate and all other quick setting icons.
There is a new tweak for silent notification while driving, the October 2022 Play System Updates, more Gesture functions, hearing aids, a change of “increased touch sensitivity” to “screen protector mode” as well as the screen saver setting tweaks. You can navigate through the screenshots obtained from sources to get a look at the features.
