Xiaomi is working hard to be among the first OEMs to deliver Android 13 to eligible users when Google releases the consumer version in the coming weeks. The tech company recently released Android 13 beta 4.1 to put the finishing touches as the final version seems to arrive soon. Xiaomi isn’t far behind, as they’re pushing the first Android 13-based MIUI 13 update to Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro.

A couple of days ago, Xiaomi announced its recruiting Beta testers for Android 13-based MIUI builds. They’re now rolling out the first Android 13-based MIUI 13 update to the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro, making them the first device to receive the update. 

The upgrade is part of the China public beta update that’s arriving with version number V13.1.22.7.28.DEV. It weighs 5.20GB, and according to the changelog, it’s the first MIUI release based on Android 13 (Beta 3).

Meanwhile, the upgrade is exclusive to Chinese users, perhaps those that enrolled in the beta tests. You will receive an update if you’re a beta tester, or you should download using the links below.

This update is an Android cross-version upgrade. In order to reduce the upgrade risk, it is recommended to back up personal data in advance. Xiaomi has a released a new Android 13-based MIUI 13 update for the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. The new release is to resolve issues reported after that initial release. You can download the new ROM here.
