The MIUI 12 has been on closed beta testing in China for weeks now, but unfortunately, the Redmi Note 8 and Mi CC9E were left out because of their supposed upgrade to Android 10. Recently, the MIUI 12 beta ROM for Mi CC9E, which is based on Android 10, was released, and we were hoping the company would release that of the Redmi Note 8.
Yesterday, the company released the first MIUI 12 beta update for Redmi Note 8, and as expected, the update is based on Android 10. The build has a version number, MIUI 12.20.6.18, and weighs in at 463MB. But unfortunately, the update was immediately suspended due to an undisclosed bug.
According to a Moderator on the Mi community forum, ”Redmi Note 8 received Android 10 update. Due to some bugs, the update is suspended.” However, you can still download the update and flash manually. But it’s imperative to know that Xiaomi suspended the deployment because of a serious bug, as such, it will be best to wait for the official rollout.
And considering that the Dragon Boat Festival will commence in China very soon, Xiaomi has suspended the development of MIUI 12 from June 26 to July 2. The development is expected to resume again from July 3. With that, Redmi Note 8 users will have to wait, at least, until the first week of July before they could start getting the update.
