Vivo has led the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones launch as the brand unveils the Vivo X90 Pro+. When the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was released, Qualcomm passed out a press release of the Android OEMs to take up the chip very soon, although they didn’t specify which was going to pull off a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone first. Well, we gave a Vivo smartphone with a nice design and promising features
Features of the Vivo X90 Pro+
Vivo sure brags about this newly unveiled smartphone, notably in the camera section. According to the brand, the Vivo X90 Pro+ is the “King of One Inch sensors”, let’s dive deeper into what Vivo has equipped with this new piece of tech.
Starting from the camera, there’s a special enhancement on this smartphone in terms of what is shielding the lens.
It’s equipped with a good quality glass element with an Abbe number of 81.6 to keep light dispersions at a very minimal level compared to plastic which gives an Abbe number of about 30(higher is better). Still, improving the quality of images further is the Zeiss T* coating that prevents glaring and ghosting. But what about the lenses?
There’s the first one-inch lens with a pretty big aperture (f/1.75) and a 77 percent photosensitive area – talk about a major improvement. Then, there’s the 64MP periscope (which has a 3.5x optical zoom and a max zoom of 100x) and 50MP portrait lens, all with OIS. In addition, there’s the 48MP ultrawide sensor with a 114° field of view and a 32MP(f/2.45) selfie camera. It is worth noting that the rear camera sensors with autofocus are assisted with a “time of flight laser system”.
You can get 8K video at 30fps on the Vivo X90 Pro+ as well as a 10fps shot while on a video. This smartphone offers you better quality videos, thanks to the 14-bit RAW video mode and you can tweak the colours with the Zeiss Natural Color 2.0 or the Vivo vivid colour – Dolby vision and LOG formats are also available. Vivo didn’t just focus all the efforts on the camera system.
The smartphone (of course) houses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a whopping 12GB of RAM and ROM storage options of 256GB and 512GB. We are well informed of what the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is capable of doing but in addition to that, Vivo equips the Vivo V2 ISP to boost image processing even further.
The Vivo X90 Pro+ has a 6.78-inch curved display with 1440×3200 Pixel resolution and 120Hz screen refresh rate. The smartphone is quite thick (9.7mm) with a net weight of 221g(still lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max). The smartphone houses a 4700 mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging (that charges up the phone from 0 percent to a full charge in 33 minutes) and 50W wireless charging.
Other features include the new UFS 4.0 storage, Bluetooth 5.3, Stereo speakers, and USB C support with USB 3.2 Gen1 speeds( for video out) among many other interesting features. The Vivo X90 Pro+ is coming with the original 3 and pre-orders start November 28 with China getting the smartphone on December 6(no word on global availability yet). You can get the Vivo X90 Pro+ 256GB variant for CNY6500($910) and the 512GB for CNY 7000($980).
