Galaxy S21 starts receiving July 2022 security patch

Samsung has started rolling out the Galaxy S21 July 2022 security patch update. The South Korean tech company started the deployment last week when it released the patch update to the Galaxy A32. It expanded the rollout to the Galaxy S22 series in Asia and has now started deployment for the Galaxy S21.

The Galaxy S21 July 2022 security patch update is available in Europe but exclusive to Germany at the time of writing. It is seeding with a firmware version G88xBXXS5CVFB and weighs 265MB. We expect the rollout to extend to other European countries in the coming days/weeks.

According to the update’s changelog, the Android security patch level has been bumped to 1 July 2022, improving device security and stability. There have been performance improvements while some bugs have been fixed. Some system apps got updated to the latest version, and we expect new features as part of the package.

Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra users in Europe can check for the new update. But given the nature of OTA rollouts, it might take time before the update gets to your device. Nevertheless, you can navigate to settings>>system updates>>download and install and follow the screen instructions to complete the installation.
