Samsung has been busy sending out the latest security patch update to its phones across the globe, bumping its Android security patch to May 2022. The current patch patched over 33 privacy and security vulnerabilities, and it seems the Galaxy Watch 4 is also getting a new update.
Details of the latest Galaxy Watch 4 update
The latest Galaxy Watch 4 update is seeding in the US and comes with a firmware version R870XXU1FVD4. It weighs a little less than 100MB, supposedly to improve stability and performance. However, the changelog only has a single change, “stabilization codes for watch operation.” That means the security and stability of the Galaxy Watch 4 have improved, and there might be additional features, although the update log did not mention it.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 4 update can be downloaded using the Galaxy Wearable app in the US. We expect Samsung to extend the rollout to other regions in the coming days. Nevertheless, you can check for updates regardless of your region.
Samsung is also working on the next iteration of its Wearable – Galaxy Watch 5 series. The company is expected to release the Watch 5 in the coming months, and details of the Watch have been surfacing online. It’s expected to compete with the upcoming Google Pixel Watch.
