Considering the speed at which Xiaomi is rolling out the Android 11 build, one would expect the update to have reached the Global and European models of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The device was among the few Xiaomi phones to receive the update last year. It was the Indian models that received the update, and given how MIUI updates are rolled out, both global and EEA models should have received the update by now. However, that is not the case, and it seems the global and European Android 11 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro is not yet ready.
And like the Redmi Note 10 series with all its confusion as per the naming, the Redmi Note 9 series is no different. For some regions, the Redmi Note 9 Pro (India) is the same phone as the Redmi Note 9S. The latter has since received the Android 11 update globally, while that build is yet to arrive for more regions. Perhaps, the rollout is still a beta phase, which is what happened with the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro Android 11 update.
There are series of bugs introduced by the Android 11 build, and that’s probably what developers are working to fix before pushing the update to the public. That looks like it, though. A Moderator in the Mi community forum affirms that the global and European Android 11 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro is still under testing.
According to him, the “Android 11 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro is still under testing. Once they’ve done testing, the devs will push the update. Not sure which update (Global or EEA) will get released first. Kindly be patient.” Of course, you have got to be patient because only when the build is ready would it start rolling out. Also, with all the complaints pouring in from those running the Android 11 build, it makes sense that developers take more things to look into those bugs and fix them before extending them to more regions.
