Global MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition now available for Mi 11X in India. Check out the post below…
On August 10, Xiaomi presented the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. The improved version of MIUI focuses on memory optimization to reduce power consumption and has since been released for the flagship Mi 10 series. The rollout is currently live in China, which is expected to arrive on twelve Xiaomi phones in the next couple of days. It’s unclear if there will be a global MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, as the company didn’t say anything about Global availability. However, we expect the update to arrive for Global users, and it could start seeding as early as next month.
According to reports, Xiaomi will finalize the first batch of the rollout on July 26, and that might be just in time for the global MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition to start seeding. Going by Xiaomi’s approach to a new iteration of MIUI, they always start deployment in China. Usually, the same build starts seeding for the global users after a month or two. But because the current version of MIUI is only an improved version of MIUI and didn’t bring any features, Xiaomi will treat it as a subsequent MIUI 12.5 build. Hence, we expect the rollout to start arriving on global models two weeks after phase one of the rollout in China.
And if that’s the case, which is likely, the Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10T & Mi 10T Pro, POCO F3, and POCO F2 Pro will receive the update first. Meanwhile, if you use the Chinese version of these phones, some of them have already bagged the update, and you can check them out via this link. Also, with a TWRP recovery installed, you can flash the Chinese ROM. However, Google Play Services might stop working, which can be frustrating, and hence, we recommend that you wait for some weeks for the update to arrive via OTA.
That said, you should keep an eye on the website to know when the Global MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition starts seeding. Hopefully, we will see the update next month – few weeks after the phase one completion in China.
Update: September 03, 2021
Even with the Q4 release time frame from Xiaomi, we knew the update will arrive on global channel this month. Well, it’s starting in India, but we expect the global models to get the update soon.
