Every year, Xiaomi surprises us by upgrading its affordable mid-range smartphone to the latest iteration of Android OS before the flagship ones. The company is doing the same with the Redmi Note 10 MIUI 14 update, but it didn’t bring a new Android OS. Perhaps, the same won’t be getting another OS upgrade.
The Redmi Note 10 arrived with Android 10 based on MIUI 12 and got upgraded to Android 11 last year. We expected an upgrade to Android 13, but that won’t happen as the latest Redmi Note 10 MIUI 14 update sans the upgrade. Nevertheless, it has introduced features of the latest iteration of MIUI to improve performance while introducing new features.
The update is seeding with a version number MIUI 14.0.1.0 SKGMIXM and weighs 280MB. It brings a new Android security patch to increase security while advancing search in the settings app. Also, there is the introduction of Photon Engine, a new widget format, a super icon, optimizations, and more.
Meanwhile, the update is available for limited users via OTA at the moment. We expect more people to start getting it in the coming days, although you can use the link below to download the ROM. Always back up your data before any upgrade, of which the current rollout is no different.
