Less than 24 hours after the Redmi Note 8 started pushing Android 11, Xiaomi has released the update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro. But while the former is receiving the new OS with a stable MIUI 12 build, the latter is getting the update with the latest iteration of MIUI (MIUI 12.5). That’s interesting as the new MIUI OS has addressed some of the bugs faced by early Android 11 adopters, and perhaps, there’ll be fewer problems for the Redmi Note 8 Pro users after upgrading to Android 11.
And yes, Xiaomi Android 11 updates have some known bugs. They include third-party launchers compatibility problems, square chat bubbles, and overlapping of the keyboard when using floating windows. There are minor glitches and lag, but you can improve the device performance by performing a factory reset after upgrading. And always remember to backup your data before the hard reset to avoid data loss.
Meanwhile, the global Redmi Note 8 Pro Android 11 is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RGGMIXM – and weighs in at 2.2GB. It brings both the new MIUI OS features and that of Android 11. That means, after upgrading, you’ll able to uninstall some system apps while background memory usage and power consumption have been reduced. Also, response to gestures is now instant, the Note app gets a new UI, and the Android security patch level has been pushed to June 2021 to increase system security and stability.
As usual, only a few users will receive the Global Redmi Note 8 Pro Android 11 update for preview. In the end and in the absence of any bugs, the public will start getting the update. We expect it to become available in the next few days, but you can use the link below and download the ROM.
