Google might have released the stable version of Android 12, but some Xiaomi phones are yet to receive Android 11. The Europe variants got the update a couple of weeks ago to hint at the global arrival. As expected, Xiaomi has released the global Redmi Note 8T Android 11 update.
As usual, the global Redmi Note 8T Android 11 update is a limited release. It will take some time before the update arrives for the public. That depends on the preview outcome, but we are optimistic the update will arrive for everyone in the coming days.
It is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.0.2.0 RCXMIXM – and weighs 2.3GB. From the version number, it sans the much anticipated MIUI 12.5, but we believe the device will get Enhanced Edition in the coming weeks.
Aside from introducing the features of Android 11, the update has bumped the Android security patch level to October 2021. And it likely brought the Memory Extension feature. You can check if the function has been enabled after upgrading your device via this link.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi Android 11 builds have some known issues. It doesn’t work with third-party launchers and chat bubbles are now square. After downloading and installing the global Redmi Note 8T Android 11 update, you will have to revert to the MIUI system launcher.
