Three weeks after the Redmi Pad received Android 13 with a stable MIUI 14 update in Europe, global users have started getting the much-anticipated upgrade. The rollout is exclusive to limited users, and hence, not many people are getting it. However, we expect the Global Redmi Pad Android 13-based MIUI 14 update to be available to more users soon.
Xiaomi announced the Redmi Pad in October 2022, running Android 12 on top of MIUI 13, making the Tablet eligible for Android 13. The rollout started weeks ago in Europe and is now seeding for the global units.
The global Redmi Pad Android 13-based MIUI 14 update is seeding with a version number MIUI 14.0.1.0 TLYMIXM and weighs 3.67GB. Aside from introducing a stable MIUI based on Android 13 and bumping the Android security patch to March 2023, the update optimized performance and advanced search in the Settings App.
Also, Xiaomi introduced a new Widget Format to allow more combinations on the screen, Super Icons, and Photon Engine to improve power consumption and optimized memory usage of third-party and system apps. There have been bug fixes, although users report new ones after the upgrade. You can check all the reported MIUI 14 bugs here.
Again, the update is exclusive to select users, but you can access the Recovery ROM with the link below. We recommend backing up your files before proceeding in case something goes wrong during installation.
