For the past couple of months, Xiaomi has focused on upgrading its phones to the latest iteration of Android with its latest MIUI 13 Android skin. The rollout started swiftly with the Chinese models, first to receive the update, before it was introduced to the global users. It has already arrived for a handful of devices on the international market, with the Global Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE Android 12 based MIUI 13 the latest to start rolling out.
The device already received the update in Europe a couple of days ago, and it’s now time for the global models to get the same treatment. It’s a 3.2GB package and comes with all the anticipated features. That means the Android OS has been pushed to version 12 while the Android security patch level is in February 2022. Also, there are new introductions – widget, MIUI Sidebar, revamped control center, and new wallpapers.
Aside from the aforementioned features, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE Android 12-based MIUI 13 update has improved the performance and stability of the system. According to the changelog, Apps can be opened as floating windows from the sidebar, while there has been Enhanced accessibility support for phone, clock, and weather. Also, Mind map nodes are more convenient and intuitive now.
Meanwhile, the update is currently seeding for Mi Pilots members for preview. We expect the public rollout in the coming days, which will see the update available for all device users.
