Global Xiaomi 12T Android 14-based MIUI 14 update released

While we wait for Google to release the stable Android 14 update, Xiaomi is rolling out the new OS upgrade with a Stable MIUI 14 build to beta testers. The update is available for Global Xiaomi 12T users, with Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro getting the much-anticipated upgrade as well.

With Google releasing the September 2023 security patch update to Pixel users today, it means we won’t see the Android 14 stable update until next month. Xiaomi won’t wait for the stable release, as they’ve started seeding a stable beta Android 14-based MIUI 14 update to select users.

The Global Xiaomi 12T Android 14-based MIUI 14 update is seeding with a version number MIUI 14.0.4.0 UMQMIXM and weighs 5.4GB. It brings a stable MIUI based on Android 14, which is the only change on the changelog. Nevertheless, Xiaomi has introduced some Android 14 customization with the new update.

While the build is a stable beta, we won’t recommend installation on a daily driver. We believe some apps are yet to adapt to the new OS, which might cause glitches. Also, new Android OS updates come with minor bugs, but if you can live with them, you can install the update.
