Android Auto has been getting a lot of tweaks lately. It has had a redesign which enables split-screen mode and also one-tap message replies which helps faster communication while driving. Samsung Galaxy S22 users were facing connection issues but this had already been fixed and now a new update, Google Android Auto 7.8 update, has started rolling out.
The Google Android Auto 7.8 update has been spotted in the beta track after the versions 7.7 and 7.6 have been previously rolled out last month. However, just like the previous versions, there isn’t much of a change in this version. This isn’t the final destination of the updates as proposed in Google’s I/O but it’s still coming up gradually.
Sources proposed that the Android Auto 7.8 update contains many bug fixes and is also working on compatibility issues for Galaxy owners. To get the package, you must have enrolled on the beta program as version 7.6 still stays for those on the stable track.
After installing the Google Android Auto 7.8 update, beta users seem to be stuck in a loop
Some users at Android Police spotted a reoccurring of the setup process after installing the Google Android Auto 7.8 update. A Reddit user said a message is seen there which says ” testing Android setup, You’ll go through setup again next time you connect”. This is kind of like a concern for 7.8 users as the setup process is a one-time thing and shouldn’t be seen reoccurring.
Perhaps, the Big G might be testing some tweaks behind the scenes but there isn’t any notable difference even after setup occurs again and again. The company might be working on an upcoming design however, there isn’t any proof of that. We’ll still keep an eye out for more tweaks, meanwhile, look out for the update on the Play Store and download it when available.
