The Google Camera app update, Google Camera 8.6 brings in Material You tweaks and a Dynamic Colour to the mode tab as well as speech enhancements in the rear camera. Also, folks at 9to5google uncovered a feature close to the Switch Camera button

How does the Google Camera 8.6 give a clue about the Pixel Fold?

The icon with the codename “Jupiter” according to 9to5google, shows a picture somewhat like a foldable. What makes it more fascinating is the fact that a dotted line is seen in the middle with an arrow showing you might need to close the device. Furthermore, we got no information about the icon other than when it is tapped, the Switch Camera button disappears.

It could be that the feature allows for the use of only the rear or front-facing camera. Another wild possibility could be that it shows the preview from the two cameras at the same time. Meanwhile, we had revealed earlier tweaks of the Pixel Fold and later reported that it was no longer in the works. Sources proposed that it could be the Big G fears the Pixel Fold/Notepad wouldn’t be on par with the Samsung Z Fold 4.

Supposed features of the Pixel Fold

The device was expected to come in with the Google Tensor chipset and a 5.85″ internal display compared to the 7.6-inch screen expected on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Furthermore, sources uncovered that the phone might be coming in with a 12MP/16MP(main and ultrawide) camera similar to that on the Pixel 5.

While the Pixel Fold remains a hard nut to crack, we are still yet to expect a foldable from other brands like Apple, so no need to make a fuss about it. But if it hadn’t been reported that Google stopped working on the smartphone, it could have probably come in with the Pixel 7. Well, let’s keep our eyes peeled for updates from the Big G.
