Xiaomi has made available, the MIUI 12 Beta stable update for some it’s devices including Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9T, and Mi 9T Pro. The update which brought features like Dark Mode, Floating Windows, New camera modes, revamped system animation, and unify font, left a some bugs, which among them is Google pay not working.
According to a user in the Mi community forum, Google pay isn’t working on the latest MIUI 12 beta update. When he tried to make use of Gpay, an error message popped up ” the phone doesn’t meet software standards”.
The error only pops up when you try to pay via Gpay. This kind of error mostly occurs when the bootloader is unlocked, but that’s not the case this time. Most people that are reporting the bug upgraded to MIUI 12 via the Updater app.
However, ”all versions of MIUI 12 have been rejected by Google pay and cannot be certified for the time being. Devs are working on a fix, hopefully, it will be resolved soon” according to the moderator in the forum. The feedback might not be very pleasant, but it’s a step in the right direction, knowing that developers are already working on fixing the bug.
It’s important to note that the bug isn’t affecting a particular device, but all the Xiaomi phones running both Stable and Beta MIUI 12. The best thing is to avoid MIUI 12, at least for now, if you make use of Gpay when paying in the stores.
We hope the issue of ‘Google Pay not working’ will be resolved soon, hopefully before the public rollout. Meanwhile, you can check the features of MIUI 12 and that of Android 11. Xiaomi has already made the Android 11 beta 1 update available, and you can check that out through this link.
