Google Pixel 6a: everything we know about the upcoming budget phone

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have been on the news since making their debut and for bad reasons most times. The Tensor-powered flagship phones have been reported with many bugs after the release and new reports keep surfacing every day. Google will try to gain back trust with the Pixel 6a, which the details have started surfacing on the internet.

According to the rumor mill, the Google Pixel 6a will retain the same design as the Pixel 6, running the same Tensor chip. The device recently arrived on Benchmark, and the scores show it might be a faster device than the Pixel 6. It would be good to see how the device performs in real life and whether Google has moved on from the issues of the Pixel 6.

While the device is believed to keep the design of the Pixel 6, including the 6.2-inch display size, it would likely not feature the Motion Mode. That particular function is unique to Google Pixel 6 phones, which adds blur to moving objects in still photos. According to reports, Google is leaving the feature probably since it won’t be equipping the Pixel 6a with a primary 50MP camera sensor. The company is turning to a 12.2MP shooter lens, and it seems the Motion Mode needs a high-res sensor to function.

Meanwhile, it seems the device will retain the 12MP ultra-wide and the single 8MP shooter front snapper, and we hope to find out next month when Google will be making an official announcement. Supposedly, the device will be available in black, white, and green, and it has been alleged not to ship immediately. However, we understand it would be available in multiple regions, and hopefully, we get to learn more about the device in the coming days.
