Here is our first look at the Google Pixel 9 Pro

It has only been about three months since the Pixel 8 Pro debuted alongside the Pixel 8, but Google is already working on its successor. However, the phone will not debut until the last quarter of the year, but the leaks have started pouring in. The latest is the Google Pixel 9 Pro renders, showing what the device will look like.

Google will maintain the flat display on the Pixel 8 Pro but a smaller display this time. According to reports, the panel will measure 6.5’’ against the 6.7” display on the predecessor. Interestingly, the bezel might be thicker as the device is almost the same size as the Pixel 8 Pro.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro measures 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm( 12.0mm with camera bump), while Pixel 8 Pro is 162.6 x 76.5 x 8.88 mm). From the measurements, the device is .3 mm thinner, basically the same size as the Pixel 8 Pro. Perhaps, there is a screen size error, and we hope to find out in the coming months.

While Google is maintaining the camera bar, they have redesigned it, as it does not span across the length of the back. It is a pilled-shaped design like the Pixel Fold camera Island with a minimal bezel. The camera bump houses the three camera sensors side-by-side and two circular cutouts. Of course, one is flash, while the other seems like the temperature that debuted with the Pixel 8 Pro.

With few things changing, the power button and volume rocker remains the same, on the right edge. However, the SIM card tray has been moved to the bottom. There’s a cutout at the left of the USB port while the mmWave antenna cutout is on the top frame. As always, the selfie camera is inside a centered punch hole.

There is no news about the build material, but we expect Google to switch to Titanium, just like most smartphone makers. Also, we expect the device to debut with a new tensor chip and some AI features.
