Google Pixel Watch fall detection feature might be arriving for users
When the Pixel watch came into the limelight, the Big G mentioned that users should expect a Google Pixel watch fall detection feature this winter and it seems the feature is now appearing on a few devices – according to sources.

A pixel watch owner reset his Pixel Watch and noticed the Google Pixel Watch fall detection feature that showed an on-screen prompt saying he should “get help quickly after a hard fall by allowing your watch to call your primary contact.” Meanwhile, it was noticed that the Pixel Watch was running on the existing December update with build number RWD9.220429.070.
So (probably), to even think of getting the Google Pixel Watch fall detection feature, your wearable has to be running on that software update. The fall detection is rated up to 32g forces and can be accessed by moving to Settings > Safety & Emergency > Fall detection just after Emergency SOS. That said, there’s a section where you can access it on the Wearable app and you also get an introductory notification.
“Fall detection and international emergency calling are not available in all areas. International emergency calling feature requires Google Pixel Watch with 4G LTE. Fall detection, Emergency SOS, and international emergency calling are dependent upon network connectivity and other factors and may not be reliable for emergency communications or available in all areas or languages. Fall detection may not detect all falls. Auto-dialling to emergency services is not available in all countries.”
Currently, a support article for the Google Pixel Watch fall detection feature is not live yet which means the feature is not launched officially and probably hasn’t been tested. Trying to set up the feature now will allow you to go through some stress and it requires a WearOS backup.
