Google Tv Android 13 Beta 1 released

The Big G has been seeding out updates and security patches to fix a few vulnerabilities on the Pixel 6 series as well as introduce new features to already existing software. The company explained a new self-share feature coming to Nearby share and also talked about debuting some sleek devices. While the Android 13 has been released with a lot of cool features, the Google Tv Android 13 Beta 1 is now available.

The Android 13 seems to pack a lot of feats that add fantastic effects to devices. It comprises improved security and privacy control, smart home access, unique Material You palette audio and media improvements as well as enhancements in Clipboard UI to mention a few. Let’s get in on Google Tv Android 13 Beta 1.

Google Tv Android 13 Beta 1. What do we know?

The beta testing has started for the update on Android TV  and a system image is available for the ADT-3 developer kit. The beta testing phase is an opportunity for end-users to try this latest release and provide feedback so the company can know where to add a few adjustments.

While the Android TV and Google Tv Android 13 Beta 1 have different testing paths, the latter’s system image is also available on the ADT-3 developer kit, and the two experiences are available via Android Emulator for TV.

In the process of testing the new release, there were some issues the company found that might not optimize the user’s experience. Some of which are:

  • When Bluetooth headphones are connected, AV playback on some apps doesn’t work
  • In some cases when trying to pair Bluetooth devices, pressing the side button of the ADT-3 device does not activate a Bluetooth device search. However, this can be resolved by using ADB commands to simulate the remote unit or simply reflash the unit
  • The Remote control buttons can’t be reconfigured from the Remote and Accessories menu, and you can’t also change the HDMI-CEC control via the same method.
  • When the ADT-3 device is connected to an LG tv, the remote control doesn’t work.

While there are still some issues with casting and display on the TV, you can’t leave out the fact that the Google Tv Android 13 Beta 1 is still in its testing phase as we still expect some improvements. The package was made available on May 4.
