Activate the back tap function on your Xiaomi phone following this step

Its believed that Xiaomi is working on a back tap function for it’s Xiaomi phones for some time now. That particular feature is part of the newly released iOS 14 and Android 11, meaning it will eventually come to Xiaomi phones that will receive the Android 11 update. Meanwhile, since the company wants to integrate the function into MIUI 12, hopefully, all eligible devices for the update will receive the back tap functionality without Android 11.

The feature will allow you to carry out a few tasks on your smartphone by double-tapping on the back. Depending on what your preferences are, you can create screenshots or activate the voice assistant, which will be much faster and easier. Unfortunately, this feature is still being tested by Xiaomi officially, but thanks to the team of Developers at XDA-Developers, you can now activate the back tap functionality on your Xiaomi phone. 

At this stage, you will have to install an app, set the right permission, and you can start performing some tasks by double-tapping the back of your Xiaomi smartphone. Below is the step by step guide on how to activate back tap function on Xiaomi phones

To activate the back tap function on your Xiaomi phone, you’ll have to download the Tap Tap application from here. The app, though, it’s still in beta phase, but from reports, it works just fine, no bugs. 

Once you finish downloading and installation, you will have to set toggle the required accessibility permission. Click on the ‘Accessibility Services’ to enable it, navigate to ‘More download Services.’ There you need to activate the permission for the Tap Tap app. 

At this stage, you have successfully activated the back tap function in your Xiaomi phone. Meanwhile, you can further customize the app by setting your preference from the ‘Gesture’ option. Also, you decide if the function will be active when the screen is off. You do that from the ‘Gates’ option.
