There are many reasons why you might want to backup your iPhone contacts to your Google account. Maybe you want to switch to a new phone and don’t want to lose your contacts, or maybe you just want to have a backup in case something happens to your iPhone. Whatever the reason, it’s easy to do and only takes a few minutes.
In this article, we’ll show you 5 different ways to back up your iPhone contacts to your Google account.

How to Backup iPhone Contacts to Google Account

  1. Use iCloud to Sync Contacts with Google Account

The first method is to use iCloud to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Here are the steps:

  1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
  2. Turn on the toggle for “Contacts”.
  3. On your computer, go to the iCloud website and sign in with your Apple ID.
  4. Click on “Contacts” and select all contacts by pressing Command + A (Mac) or Ctrl + A (Windows).
  5. Click on the gear icon in the lower-left corner and select “Export vCard”.
  6. Save the file to your computer.
  7. Go to the Google Contacts website and sign in with your Google account.
  8. Click on “Import” and select the vCard file you just saved.

Your iPhone contacts should now be synced with your Google account.

  1. Use iTunes to Export Contacts to Google Account

The second method is to use iTunes to export your iPhone contacts to a vCard file, which can then be imported into your Google account. Here are the steps:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes.
  2. Select your iPhone from the device list.
  3. Click on “Info” and select “Sync Contacts with”.
  4. Choose “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu.
  5. Enter your Google account information and click “Apply”.
  6. On your computer, go to the Google Contacts website and click on “Import”.
  7. Select the vCard file exported from iTunes and click “Import”.

Your iPhone contacts should now be backed up to your Google account.

  1. Use a Third-Party App to Sync Contacts

There are several third-party apps available on the App Store that can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Here are a few examples:

  • My Contacts Backup: This app lets you back up your contacts to a vCard file, which can then be imported into Google Contacts.
  • Sync.ME: This app not only backs up your contacts to your Google account but also keeps your contacts up to date with the latest information from social media and other sources.
  • Contacts Sync for Google Gmail: This app syncs your iPhone contacts with your Google account in real time.
  1. Use Google Drive to Backup Contacts

Google Drive also allows you to backup your iPhone contacts to your Google account. Here are the steps:

  1. Download and install the Google Drive app on your iPhone.
  2. Open the app and sign in with your Google account.

The final method is to use CardDAV, a protocol for syncing contacts between devices. Here are the steps:

  1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Add Account.
  2. Select “Other” and then “Add CardDAV Account”.
  3. Enter your Google account information and tap “Next”.
  4. Enter “google.com” as the server and your full email address as the username.
