5 Potential ways to Fix iTunes Not Recognizing Your iPhone

1. Ensure that iTunes is up to date

Are you running the most recent version of iTunes? If it is out of date, a software incompatibility or bug may be preventing your iPhone from connecting properly. When you launch iTunes, Apple automatically notifies you that a new version is available, so if you see an update notification, don’t dismiss it; instead, install the update.

2. Ensure that your iPhone is unlocked

Sometimes the simplest solutions can solve the most perplexing problems. If iTunes isn’t recognizing your iPhone, close iTunes and then unlock your iPhone, making sure it’s on the Home screen (not an app screen). Restart iTunes to see if that resolves the issue.

3. Change your USB cable

Internally, USB cables deteriorate, fray, and break. Even if the business ends appear to be in good working order, the wiring beneath the sheath may be compromised, especially if it has sharp bends. Try the cable on another device, or simply replace it with a different cable and try again.

4. Restart both your iPhone and your computer

The reason iTunes isn’t recognizing your phone is most likely due to a temporary software glitch. This is especially true if you are normally able to connect but it is not working right now. Restart both your iPhone and computer to resolve the majority of software issues.

Remove the cable that connects your iPhone to your computer. Then restart your computer as usual. Then, restart your iPhone.

5. Change your USB cable

Internally, USB cables deteriorate, fray, and break. Even if the business ends appear to be in good working order, the wiring beneath the sheath may be compromised, especially if it has sharp bends. Try the cable on another device, or simply replace it with a different cable and try again.

Wrapping it Up

These are some of the ways to fix iTunes not recognizing your iPhone. In a nutshell, there are several reasons why this issue might occur on your iPhone. Hopefully, with the troubleshooting tips provided above, you should be able to fix this issue.
