How To Reset Airpods And Airpods Pro
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to reset Airpods for proper functionality.
Step 1: Put your AirPods in their charging case, close the lid and then wait for approximately 30 seconds.
Step 2: Open the lid of your charging case, put the AirPods in your ears, and connect them to your phone (iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad)
Step 3: Go to settings and then tap on Bluetooth, or Airpods, depending on the one shown on your device.
Step 4: Next to your Airpods, tap the “More info” button.
Note: if you are unable to find Airpods in your settings, then go to your Airpods and go to the next step.
Step 5: Tap on “Forget This Device”. On the next prompt, repeat this step 5 again to confirm the action.
Step 6: Open the Lid, then press and hold the setup button located at the back of the case for about 15 to 20 seconds until the flashlight at the front of the case flashes Amber and then white color.
Step 7: With your Airpods in their charging case and the lid open, now place them close to your phone to reconnect them, and then follow the steps on the screen of your device.
Note: If you want to use Airpods or Airpods Pro that another person has used, they will first need to remove the Airpods from their Apple ID for this action to be possible. And have it in mind that the settings for your Airpods also reset when you reset your Airpods and you can also change your settings again if you wish.
How to reset AirPods Max
The steps to reset Airpods Pro and Airpods Max are slightly different but on a similar process. Below are the steps to reset Airpods Max with ease both when the iPhone is running iOS 16 and when it’s not yet on iOS 16.
If the Airpods Max is connected and the iPhone is running on iOS 16, then follow the steps below to reset Airpods Max.
- Open the settings app and select the Airpods Max
- Tap the “More icon” which is located next to the Airpods Max.
- Tap on the instruction “Forget This Device” and then repeat it again in order to confirm the unpairing action.
But if the Airpods Max are connected but the device is not yet on iOS 16, then follow the steps below;
- Open your settings and navigate down and select Bluetooth.
- Then click on the lowercase inside the circle located next to the Airpods Max
- Tap on “Forget This Device”, and repeat this step again to confirm the action.
- Finally, locate the Digital Crown and the noise control buttons and then hold them down for about 15 seconds until the status light flashes Amber and then white color.
